Sony FX1

Hi Guys

I want a Sony FX1 more than I want to go to Disneyland, it's around 1.6k though.

Is there any sites that will let me pay monthly for it ?

Also are there any other camcorders I should be looking at instead for the same price ?

Cheers

Re: Sony FX1

I have an FX1.
AFAIK it has been "superseded" by other Sony and Canon models which are not £1600
It is fairly unique in that it is now that price but if you are willing to pay a bit more your choice widens to its Sony stable mates
Canon FX7 is considered by some to be better and by others to be a side ways step
The V1 is costlier as is the Z1
Th A1 is not as good

Canon XH A1 is perhaps the nearest Non Sony model if you can spend bit more but it is very well regarded

Take out a bank loan, you can pay that monthly

If you have a heroin habit you'd be better off spending the money on that for now. Get the FX1 once you've straightened yourself out.

You'll have to be 18 to "pay monthly" anyway

Incidentally, it's "borrow" not "lend." Your family would be the ones doing the lending. You'd be borrowing the money from them.

Yes, I know that forums like this are replete with grammatical faux pas, but because you're young there's still a chance to reform you.

HTH.

EDIT:
Upon review, I noticed another: you should have typed "it's" not "its." "It's" is a contraction for "it is" (e.g., "Where is the cat?" "It's on the mat . . .") while "its" denotes the possessive (". . . licking its paws"). Easy.

Re: Sony FX1

You've probably scared him off Andrew and we'll never hear from him again.

I thought his honesty was refreshing.

Presumably he has chosen to study a media/journalism/video/TV course rather than English studies.

Now did you have any suggestions about the FX1?, and How it can be sourced ?

To the OP I would suggest you have a think about either getting a cheaper one, or financing the Fx1s purchase resourcefully and at this point I don't think many shops ( let alone sites) will offer you credit without substantial guarantee and "status" ... They need to feel you wont just pay the first instalment and walk
Leaving you essentially at the mercy of " Mum and Dads Bank" ( or Family if they believe in your motives and ability to repay)
If you have aspirations for what is practically a Semi Pro camcorder, you must have a means of generating an income and a repayment plan in mind
