video capture in slo mo

i have a dvd i want to cut about 6 x 5 second pieces out of it then play them in slo mo and recapture just these 6 pieces

is it possible with any free software or reasonably priced software

thanks for any help

Assuming it is a non copyrighted/encrypted DVD, any most any video editor will do this. I suggest Sony Vegas Movie Studio Platinum.

Aye, Vegas does it for sure.

Some cameras will hardcode slow mo for sports into the footage by upping the frames. eg. the Sony SR5E supposedly, according to the manual.
