Panasonic HD Writer 2.0E problem

I bought the panasonic HDC SD5 camcorder and installed the HD writer software provided. Unfortunately I cannot burn any video to a disc ! I am able to import successfully onto my laptop . When I try to use write data to medium, I cannot select the destination media and get the message NO SD DVD drive .But my lap top (Dell Inspiron 6000) does have a DVD drive . Any ideas anyone ?

Re: Panasonic HD Writer 2.0E problem

I assume the DVD drive is also a writer and not just a reader?

Re: Panasonic HD Writer 2.0E problem

Cool,
In the HD Writer program under "Settings" and then click the "Drive Settings" tab does it list any DVD writer device?

Does your DVD writer work okay with other dvd writing applications?

Which version of Windows do you have on your laptop?

Re: Panasonic HD Writer 2.0E problem

When I open the HD writer programme and click on settings in recognises that I have a DVD writer . However when I put a DVD -R disc in , it then says no SD/DVD drive in the drop down box with the error message " no drive, adaptor , or video camera that can be written is found. Press the refresh button after the device is connected properly" . I am using Windows XP and the DVD writer works fine on other applications

Re: Panasonic HD Writer 2.0E problem

Hi,
if there is still trouble with your hd writer, go to the panasonic page and download updates, as the problem was reported by several customers.

be patient, download speed may be very slow..
