Another what Camcorder question

I would appreciate some help in choosing a camcorder, a bit of background info to start off:-

I film basketball games for a club I am part of, at the moment I am using my own camcorder a Canon MD160 (which of course used DV tapes) .
The recordings are used for 2 things, a copy of the game has to be sent to the league, also a copy is used by the coach of our team to analyse game play and tactics.
Up to now as mentioned above I film the games and on returning home burn them to DVD and send copies to the respective parties.

The coach has asked me to look into being able to obtain a copy of the game immediately or very soon after the game has finished.
What we are thinking of doing is obtaining a DVD format camera, finalise the disc straight after the game and then making copies on a laptop.
A bit more background, quality of recording is not particularly an issue (broadcast quality is not a requirement, although sometimes I do need to edit recordings for highlights etc), currently I do any editing using Ulead Video Studio and feel it is possible to import from a Dvd as I have done the reverse in the past (DV Tape > DVD > Edit > DVD)?
Most games last about 70 minutes (although occasionally it may be slightly longer)
I am wondering about the suitability of a low priced camcorder like the Canon DC301 (looks fairly similar in features and spec to my MD160) and notice it gives a recording time of up to 108 minutes on DL 2.4gb discs.
Thanks in advance
RG
