Best Fit For Purpose Cam

Hi

Sorry if this has been asked a thousand times before but we have a baby due in December and would like to purchase a HD Cam.

I have been looking at the Panasonic SD9 as the size weight and SD functions appeals to me. However I have just seen that the SD100 is released and really want to know if you think this is a better purchase given it is an additional £300 odd pounds.

To summarise;
Filming Family / Holidays
Needs to be light weight
Easy to get films off and onto PC and TiVx Box (media player linked to Plasma)
Price no more than £800ish

Thoughts would be greatly receive and thanks in advance for commenting!
