A short step by step?

Hi Guys,

I think im missing something in the chain somewhere, can someone please tell me what im doing wrong.

1. Edit footage in vegas
2. Render As AVC file
so now i have the 'name.m2ts' file
3. Open DVD architect 5.0
4. Burn DVD disc including the 'name.m2ts' file on it.
5. Nothing reads the finished disc. PC wont open it, PS3 wont read it.

If i do this process with a non hd file, its fine. no probs at all.

What am i doing wrong that means i cant burn the HD files.

I have also tried using standard CD burning software (roxio) to burn the m2ts file to a DVD as data. The PS3 cant read this either.

Anybody know what i should be doing?

Thanks. Ben

Re: A short step by step?

For burning a data disc . i would skip DVDA completely anyhow
However the PS3 should be able to read off a data disc
Does the PC recognise as data disc those burnt via Roxio?
Nero Vision 5 ( part of Nero 8) can also make an AVCHD disc which the PS3 should be able to read

I think you need to burn the "name.m2ts" as DVD data disk not on a CD and not as a DVD disk.
The PS3 will play data AVCHD files on a DVD disk, or authored AVCHD DVD on Blue Ray disk.

Re: A short step by step?

He did state DVD disc even if he used the expression CD burning software
Saying that I have burnt HDV footage to a CD and the PS3 did read it
although it was much happier to have the file copied to its own internal HDD

Re: A short step by step?

Hi Guys,

Sorry yeah i did say CD software, but yes, i am burning to DVD.

The PC doesnt recognise the DVDs via Roxio either. It trys its hardest, but gives up.

Do you have to stick the file into a folder or leave it at the root? or either?

Sony DVDA is great for SD stuff, and everything recognises it, it just seems that nothing wants to recognise my HD stuff.

Re: A short step by step?

I suggest you try different DVD media ( first) and/ or burning software
