Blacking Out a speedometer?

I have taken some onbike motorcycle footage but i forgot to cover the speedometer with tape. Was not going mad fast but a bit over speed limit at times. I know i can use picture in picture to black out the speedo area but as the bike moves from side to side the speedo position moves so it will take a long time to make sure its blacked out at all times manually- having to change the picture in picture location. Is there any software package that will blackout the speedo but remember where the speedo is located so will automatically move the blackout as the position of the speedo moves- it will follow the speedo position? thanks

That kind of automatic motion tracking isn't something generally supported in your typical editor. You can do it manually with lots of keyframes, but it is a pain.

I believe After Effects can do this, but it's not cheap.

Re: Blacking Out a speedometer?

I believe I kind of hinted that here in your thread with a similar query
You can also try to blur the speedo.

You need motion tracking software, which price-wise can cost a lot to an awful lot! You don't mention how long the footage is and what resolution.
If it is not too big I can fix it for you.

Drop me a pvt msg.
