Refund not recieved after two weeks!

Ello, ive got a bit of bother and was wondering whats my next best move.

Bentonville mall took my money on the 10.07.08 for a sony hdr sr11e that they showed in stock. After a week with no news i emailed and the reply said expected date 25.07.08. This obviously ment they didnt have stock, so slightly annoyed by the lies on their webpage, on the 18.07.08 i said cancel my order.
They replied same day said no problems. The 25th came and went, no camera arrived so i went and checked my cc account thinking good the cancellation is thru. No refund. I emailed on the 28th july saying you have cancelled my order please refund my money. they replied with yes no problem.
On the 30th still no refund recieved so i asked was there a problem and should i get barclaycard to sort out. He replied with no they will sort it.
So now its the 2nd of Aug. Still no refund.
What is my next move? Do I give him a deadline? say tuesday 5pm or I will contact barclaycard or just go straight to barclaycard now?

Personally I think ive been extremely generous with the amount of time ive let pass since they cancelled my order .

Check the small print regarding their returns & refunds policy. Usually it'll say something like "up to 30 days to process your refund" which - let's face it - seems a bit ridiculous and usually (at least in my limited personal experience) takes far less time than that in reality.

It seems odd that they would be stuffing you about deliberately, but waiting a fortnight for a refund which still hasn't happened is likely to make you feel prickly!

That's not much help, I know - but again, check the terms and conditions and then you'll have a better idea of whether they've overstepped the mark or not yet.

That would annoy me too. Not right that you should be charged when they don't have the item in stock. (Unless it was a special order product)

Taking full payment for something not in stock wouldn't be unusual, as there are some products a company might only keep to order if they don't sell regularly, but if the webpage said it was in stock, then it's wrong, unless there was an error of course.

You've contacted these guys on several ocassions, and nothing has come of it. A refund can be done on the same day. Just go straight to Barclaycard, and get it sorted sooner rather than later, in case they disappear.

Good point on them disappearing. They could be stalling.
Ill contact Barclaycard today.
