Quick Vegas Pro help required.

I have completed a project in Vegas built from Sony miniDV 16:9 AVI captured files. I now want to produce a DVD and maintain aspect ratio at 16:9 PAL.

What do I have to render to in Vegas Pro to produce a simple (no menu required) SD DVD in 16:9 format and either through that or Arhcitect pro how do I burn a DVD?

So far the closest I have got is either producing the VIDEO_TS directory on my hard disk (circa 1Gb) but it doesn't have any audio or I've produced an MPEG file which has both but is only 350k. BTW I've got DVD Architect pro 4.5

In reading the manuals it suggests I may have to render both video and audio separately.... but I still haven't worked it out. all the tutorials seem to be geared to producing on line media.

If anyone could help me I would be most grateful.

Re: Quick Vegas Pro help required.

When you render the DVD Architect "template" Mpeg2 with a specific name
You also subsequently render audio with same filename to same folder as the mpeg video
DVDA will find the audio and use it ( it should although you can actually browse to it
You can certainly make an Mpeg2 with audio 9 (Program stream)
The reason for making them separately is so that you can specify from withn Vegas whichi sort of audio format you want to use upfront for the DVD. This should prevent DVD A needing to reeencode the audio

Have a little look

Re: Quick Vegas Pro help required.

There are options in the "File -> Render as" menu for DVD formats (render as mpeg2 or avi). Open up DVD Architect and choose the "Make DVD" option. The simplest way is to choose the Single Video template (don't have to worry about menus). DVD Architect will prepare and then burn your DVD.

Re: Quick Vegas Pro help required.

Thanks guys.... saving to an AVI file was the key message. When I used Studio previously it kind of renders and burns in one go and I missed the fact that in an intermediate phase it saves as an avi file too. But as I never needed to go and look at that file outside of the Studio program I didn't need to be aware.

I need to experiment with the protype titler to get scrolling titles and the menu function as well, but I'll save that for another day when I am not under so much pressure to complete the project !

I am impressed though... the quality of output on my TV seems better going through the two step Vegas process of "project" to AVI to DVD burn than the all-in-one Studio approach, so many thanks to you both for your patience.
