Question AVCHD Compatible Media Streamers

I'm sure there was mention of which media streamers can play AVCHD on this forum, and I think the EVA8000, Popcornhour and TVix 4100 were possibilities.

I'm hoping to play back AVCHD from my HF100 (17 mbps) and was wondering if anyone here had success with any of these players?

I'm concerned the higher bitrate of the HF100 might be problematic with a 4100, even though I'd prefer it to the PCH for its builtin display, USB slave and SATA compatibility.

Any advice appreciated.

Re: AVCHD Compatible Media Streamers

Have a look at the TVix M6500A instead of the 4100SH.

My Popcornhour streams 15Mbps quite happily over wired CAT5.

Thanks for digging out that informative thread reference.

Not convinced I need the 6500 right now. The 4100 is still a bit cheaper and presumably the firmware is a bit more mature.

Re: AVCHD Compatible Media Streamers

I have found that the only drawback as far as the TVix 4100sh is concerned is, getting it to network with a PC, there's only a couple of wireless usb devices that Divco recommend for use (wireless isn't built in, if that's what you want) I've never managed to get mine to talk to my laptop and the instructions are for Windows 95/XP, Vista being a different beast it's hard to understand what's going wrong.
The 4100sh will play almost anything from an HDD or usb device, but for streaming you might want to look at a different model

Re: AVCHD Compatible Media Streamers

I should just buy a Popcornhour. They are a lot cheaper than a TVix. Mine's great.

Supposedly a new model of PCH is due soon-ish which will have USB slave and SATA.

Re: AVCHD Compatible Media Streamers

No problems playing back my HF10 files using my PCH or PS3.
