HDR-HC7 problems in Vegus 8 Pro

Have used Sony Vegus for over 5 years. Decided to try out my HD camera Eventully loaded it into Vegus The clips are all shown but they are all greyed out and of course will not load onto time line. Please please what have I to do to see the results. The manuel tells me very little and I am really stuck Can any one help me

It should work; I'm not sure what is happening. Once you have captured the HDV clips they should show available in the media pool.
