Panasonic NV-GS230 camcorder software for Vista

Hello,

I have a Panasonic NV-GS230 mini DV camcorder and want to import and edit video on Vista Home Premium.

The CD that came with the camera does not work on Vista.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks.

Re: Panasonic NV-GS230 camcorder software for Vista

Can you go to the manufacturers website and download a newer Vista compatable version or use a different Capture software?

No cd needed connect with firewire cable and use windows movie maker which you have to capture.Though for really decent editing youwillneed to consider others Like ulead or adobe

Hi first connect withthe pc off and the Cam off. Then start the PC whenits upand runningswitch on the cam make sure youhave it selected for play back .You should then get a dialogue box come upand ask which program you want to use .As youonly jhave WMM it should be that . If that does not happen then for some reason the pc is not seing the Cam .Try that first and comse back.Rememeber always have the powers off when connecting

thanks jaymac, got the camera working with the firewire connection now...

I have another question, I have signed up for Skype but the video is not showing up in the Skype Tools/Options/General/video settings box. I am using the USB connection for Skype (firewire is unplugged), the camera is not showing up on the pulldown menu and the screen has 'Skype can't access your webcam...'.

Any help appreciated.
