Our Sony Camcorder has been playing up so I've been thinking of changing it. Its mostly used indoors so low level ability is most important. I don't mind what media it uses. I've also found the single biggest drawback of our current camcorder the lens angle is very poor - bought a wide angle lens for our current one which has helped some.

Would buying a 2nd hand camcorder off ebay be wise? Say an older Canon XM1 or similar? Don't mind about size.

or a second hand Canon XM2 if you can find one ( they are still very popular so that is a long shot)
