Sony HDR-UX19E - anyone got one?

Cant seem to find any reviews of this. And is currently at a good price @ Play...

http://www.play.com/Electronics/Elec...r/Product.html

so is it worth it? Or shall i just go for either the SD9 or hf100?

"We" tend to ignore models which use DVD media (due to issues of reliability). This one can record to flash memory or DVD, so that helps. It has the same sensor/lens and digital processing as the Sony SR10;I would expect it to perform similar to the Sony SR10.

Mark ,
does it just record AVCHD files to a DVD disc as data ( like HDD or Flash memory)
or does it create AVCHD discs?
Not that i would buy or recommend it though

It makes an AVCHD disc (if you finalize it). So that is an advantage; it is a memory card based camcorder and dedicated AVCHD disc burner all in one.

Re: Sony HDR-UX19E - anyone got one?

I suppose it is a kind of SR 10 hybrid then
Still my money is on the 11 or 12 if I was going to go AVCHD
Solid state memory does inspire more confidence than HDDs though
As for the optical disc function. I really wonder
What with clips being recorded "separately"
However in general terms I don't like the basic inability to edit as such so the advantage of instant AVCHD disc is lost on me but I can see its attraction
