How to burn M2TS to DVD

Hi all,

I'm new here and quite lost as I have just purchashed the new Sony SR12 camcorder and I would like to burn the video files onto a regurlar DVD. I have set the settings on my camcorder to maximum. When I try to burn the DVD using Nero 8, I feel that the quality is not super... Which application is the best for making regular DVD's (4,7 or perhaps DL). Can anyone please help?

Is Unlead Movifactory HD version better?

Thanks,

Re: How to burn M2TS to DVD

Hi Sara6969

I am also pretty new to this having recently purchased a Sony HDR-TG3E. I have tried to use most of the trial versions of video editing software and the best compromise that I have found is to edit using Sony Vegas Movie Studio 8 Platinum version. The rendering unfortunately downscales the HD files slightly, from 1920 x 1080 to 1440 x 1080. If I used the software to burn, it only burns SD, so I saved the rendered file to the Hard Drive and then used the software provided with the camera, Picture Motion Browser, to burn a data disk. When played on my PS3, it was smooth and clear. I was very relieved as I had had great difficulty in finding anything to burn the HD files.

Sorry, if this is an amateurish explanation, but I hope that it helps.
