Mpeg movies are upside down in WMP?

I use Pinnacle 9.4 to edit movies from camcorder and make discs for TV viewing.
I store some of them as Mpeg movies (a choice from the Pinnacle list), but find if I want to play the Mpeg using Windows Media Player 11 the result is upside down!! Also, it's a 'mirror image' as well (so even turning the monitor upside down won't cure the problem!!).
Open the same Mpeg movie with Nero and video plays normally.
Anyone know a way round this WMP problem?

I'll be a duff codec I expect.

Not sure what, if anything, can be done about that, are 'codecs' renewable, and if so, how?
As you may gather, not very up on these matters!

Re: Mpeg movies are upside down in WMP?

It is a dodgy codec
Maybe if you install a software DVD player it might overwrite the mpeg2 decoded that WMP uses
Saying that not being a great fan of WMP myself, I simple dont use it when there are "better" alternatives, Free or paid for

Re: Mpeg movies are upside down in WMP?

Thanks, I don't normally use WMP much either, but happened try an Mpeg movie a few days ago. Normally just use Nero to play them - can you suggest others (preferably free!) to try?
Cheers.
