Editing AVI files

I have been trying to render my project from my helmet cam, I tried to use windows movie maker but it kept crashing so I have been using Sony vegas pro 8, I have edited it and it looks ok when preview but if I try to render it, it just comes out all slow and jerky, it must be to do with the format settings.

The camera is 640 x 480 at 30fps and on vegas the project is showing up at 720x480x32, 29.970, what settings do I use for rendering it, I have tried a few different with rubbish results, help!!!

Re: Editing AVI files

You need to change the settings whilst opening the new project
This is stop any unnecessary re encoding whist working on the project leaving that to the end when you can then output it as you wish
640 x 480 is VGA resolution 30fps is well ...NTSC ( sort of)
That Vegas is showing you 720 x 480 at 29.97 means you are using a standard DV NTSC template ,
It is best you specify a custom template ( such as you have if there is nothing like it in Vegas Presets)
How you render it out depends on what you want to do with it
