Sony Vegas pro and Canon HF10 HELP!

Hi just tried my first bit of editing ever using the trial version of Sony Vegas Pro and HD footage from my new Canon HF 10.

All went well the preview looked fine transitions great titles superb.

Then I tried to Burn it to disc and my PC said format not supported? I take it this is because my DVD burner will not accept AVCHD material?

What do I need to be able to burn full HD AVCHD files? My PC is a Quad core pentium with 4Gb of ram and a DVD re-writer I assume I need a blue ray burner?

Thanks in advance for any advice.
