JVC GR-D860 or Canon MD-235

Hi,

I am currently looking for a camcorder; this will be for filming my new family growing up etc… I was looking to spend about £150 - £200 max; there are two units that I think should do the job. However holding my hands up… I don’t know a lot about this technology.

JVC GR-D860 Mini DV Camcorder

or

Canon MD235 Mini DV Camcorder

http://www.misco.co.uk/applications/...019&catcode=WW

Does anyone know off these camcorders?

I have searched the web for reviews but can’t find much information aside from the machine specs and prices; there are some positive comments about the cannon in these forums, but no word of the JVC.

I am really looking for a second opinion on which one, if either! Or even a link to a trusted review site with this equipment listed.

Thanks for your help…

Re: JVC GR-D860 or Canon MD-235

Dont really know them TBH.

The Canon does have a good following as a brand particularly at this level
JVC tends to have winners and not too great kit and it makes it impossible to rely of paper specs which might suggest both camcorders are identical

In short, If you have a chance of returning them , either should do. If not Il err on the side of the Canon
it seems marginally better specified ( Mic in ect)
