Sony handycam PC55E as webcam, need to disable inbuilt promo vid while inactive ....

The heading says it all really ..

I am using the videocam as a webcam, however when registering a couple of minutes of being awake-but-not-recording, which it interprets as inactivity, it defaults to the short inbuilt promo via its display, showcasing a few of the cam's abilities and features. This includes taking whatever the current-image might happen to be, and illustrating visual effects like sepia, negative, pixellation, at which point the webcam pic therefore goes in to sepia then negaitive then pixellation etc ....

Can this autoplay/promo be disabled or deleted, or otherwise prevented from initiating? Depending whether it is family or colleagues that I am connecting with they feel they are suddenly chatting with an alien!

Thanls for any guidance/thoughts.

Re: Sony handycam PC55E as webcam, need to disable inbuilt promo vid while inactive .

Thank you Peter. I had assumed there should be a means of doing so, though had not discovered the menu-entry to allow it.

I note for the possible benefit of others having the same query at a later date, that with a cassette and the mem-stick still in the cam it appears to be indicated that auto-launch of the demo will be inhibited.

The pointer is very much appreciated, thanks ...
