So to confuse more...
1- There are Normal DVD players (standard ones)
2- Than high definition DVD players (high definitions)
3- Than Full High Definitions DVD players (Blue-ray, Xbox etc)
So what Im trying to say is ..I understand it can record in standard definition but Can SR10E record in high definition so I can play it on a high definition DVD player rather than record in Full high definition and play on a Blue-ray disc player.
Please forgiveme if Im not clear.....Im glad its Friday ... |
For Hi def playback there are Bluray players and the likes of PS3
The DVD standard does
not support hi def, As such there are no " Hi definition DVD players".
Marketing may describe them as such becuse they can upscale SD to produse pseudo hi def and have HDMI jacks but they really can only accept as input, standard def material
AS such Any DVD player which cam upscale SD to 720 p or 1080i is producing "fake" hi def. I actually have 2 of them , the Denon 1920 and Samsung HD 950
I wouldn't get too engroosed in "HD ready" and "Full HD" as most 1080p displays will scale 1080i to 1080p
Alot of the time you will struggle to see the difference TBH
Sufice to say that DVD players
will not play any hi def material, wherever it comes from
So , if you want to watch the Hi def recording from the SR 10 on an upscaling DVD player , you need to record it in SD only ( or convert Hi def to SD on the PC)
If you want to want Hi def as Hi def :You need to
Use the PC
PS3 ( or similar meidia player like "Popcorn hour")
or
BD player
BD player will need a BD burner and discs: costly buisness

Some sony BD players (and the PS3) can play a form of BD which is burnt to DVD disc called "AVCHD disc" . Thses disc will not play on an ordinary DVD player and indded most non Sony BD players
HTH
Im also glad its Friday...
