Angry Scart to Firewire

Apologies if this is an obvious question.

I was wondering if there was such a thing as a scart to Firewire adaptor/cable. Basically I want to be able to transfer some VHS footage to my DV In JVC Camcorder, mainly to back it up digitally, but also perhaps to edit further with Premier. I don't want to have to buy an analogue capture card as I have a laptop and don't want to have to install a card if its not necessary. Any ideas on the best cheapest way of doing this will be really appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

There are a few semi=pro analogue to DV convertors out there, but you are looking at £200 at least for one. Normally the PQ from them is very good, but if you're only using VHS as a source then you will be very disappointed with the result.

It's probably cheaper to get a video capture PC card (about £120 from Dabs) and capture using Premier.

Thanks: Gave 15, Got 463
If your camcorder has its inputs enabled then all you need is a scart to sterio phono for sound and phone for video (red/white = sound, Yellow = video) if your cam has these inputs or whatever is required by your cam. Read the manual to find out exactly what is required.
You should then be able to put the cam into VCR mode and capture direct to the PC or reacord to a DV tape.

Mark.
