the problem that from here i can't do noting...

i plug the dvcam with the original cable that i got with the VIA card , i installed the program Ulead Videostudio 8 from the disc that i got with the Via card ,
and when i open the program an try to capture , all i get is

"either no video caputer driver is install in the system , or no device is connected"

Go to your "View Network connections" in My Network and check that the card is not disabled, you right mouse click the Firewire icon to change the status.

Reinstall the card
However, before you blame the card
Not recognising the camrcorder may be a camcorder or firewire cable problem
AFAIK, a few Panasonics had this problem for which ther is a fix from microsofts site but if your PC sees the card and says it is working well.. look at the firewire cable, and settings in the camcorder itself

Re: problem with sony pc105 and via firewire

I meant, remove the card, then resite it ( in its PC slot) so that windows recognises it
If not use system restore to remove the updates to allow the PC back to its previous state ( when the card was recognised)
However I still feel there may be the need to check the camcorder on another PC to see if its cable or camcorder itself are the problem, not the firewire card

NO
you need a firewire cable which you should connect to the computer first
