Video Camera upgrade

I have just sold my Sony tRV46 Hi 8, and am now looking for a Digital replacement. I have some old Hi8 tapes so it would have to be backwards compatible. Whilst i have a brand loyalty to Sony, I was wondering are there any other makes I should have a look at. My budget is £550-600, and I already have the editing software etc on my computer so it will be a long term purchase. Any help or ideas much appreciated, regards Aitch

Hi,
Martin is right, If you want to play back your old Hi8 tapes you have to get a Sony Digital 8 camcorder.
No one else makes Digital 8.

Beware, some of the cheaper Digital 8 camcorders dont support Hi8.
So ask before you buy.

Good Luck
