Japanese Camcorder - No English Menu - pls help!!!

I have just got a Sony DCR-TRV70 from Japan - its lovely - other than all the menus are in Japanese!!!

I have bought similar equipment in the past and there is normally a English Language option for the menus, but there seems to be done for this camcorder.

So, does anyone know how to get English menus? Is there an hidden option?

Has anyone heard of updating the camcorder software to get an English menu?

Plus, I cant find a English instruction manual for it on the internet! The DC-TRV70 is also available in the US so there must be one somewhere. In Europe its been lauched as the DCR-TRV60 - but still I cant find any manuals for it!!!

Any other ideas please!!!

Thanks

According to the manual downloadable here:-

http://pdf.crse.com/manuals/3081415121.pdf

it's possible to select language options. The DCR-TRV70 is an NTSC version of the DCR-TRV60E. They were manufactured around 2003. It may be worth trying the reset button (somewhere on the casing of the camcorder) this resets all internal user adjustable software settings ..including date, to factory default. Useful if you have problems navigating the menu.

Hardly surprising given the thread was hijacked by a post bearing no resemblance to the original topic . . .
