Samsung vpd 10 is it ok

I was thinking of getting this mini dv camcorder from dixons
for 350.

I have an old vhs one and want to move up.I am not expecting
out of this world viewing but want reliability. is it ok for a first time dv cam.

Plus its got a firewire link which is good.
