dazzle ???

Help guys!!!!!!
I don't want to get too technical, all i want to do is transfer footage from my JVC digital camcorder onto my pc to transfer to cd
and perhaps muck about with some footage.
Bear with me hear, i have no video capture card, but i have seen on Amazon a usb dazzle digital video creator 80 for £59.99 that just plugs into the usb port and then you connect your camcorder to this device (sounds easy is it?)
Thanks a lot

I have just had a look and found the Dazzle DVC50. is this the unit you are talking about?
If it is then www.ebuyer.co.uk have it for £42.63inc VAT
This will only capture analogue, therefore loosing the quality of DV. A cheaper and better quality option is to get a PCI firewire card and software. Prices start from around £30 for everything you will need to get started. Installing the card is easy and if you do a search on this forum you will see advice that I have given in the past on installing the card or just let us know what you need to know.

Thanks for coming back MarkE19,
The unit you are talking about sounds the same, but the unit i am talking about is on Amazon and is the 80, is it the same sort of thing? Have a look and let me know your thoughts

It's a small world

The DVC 80 looks to be about the same as the DVC 50. Maybe some additional software in the 80, but still only analogue.
It will be a quick and simple solution to install, but will not do a digital camcorder justice. I would still recommend going for a firewire solution. Not as easy to install but gives full quality DV capture.

H i MarkE19,
Looked around on EBUYER and found this :-
Studio DV Clip/ PC11EEE1394 Firewore Capture Card Pal + Studio V7 SE.
Any good? looks easy to fit! and the software comes with it.
Never used EBUYER before, reliable?

This looks to be a good buy, and I have recommended this in the past. Take another look though as Studio 7 is now updated to Studio 8 (never of guessed that one would you ) and is worth getting the full version rather than SE (SE = Special Edition = cut down with a lot of functions removed!).
I have used Ebuyer in the past and they sell just about everything and at better than average prices, but watch the delivery price. The card IS very easy to install.
