Tapes UK (tapesuk.co.uk) - Are they any good?

Has anyone any experience of using Tapes UK as a vendor? Are they a seller of repute? Their stuff is certainly cheap (£1.40 per 60min DV cassette).

I've not used them; but the £1.40 for a Sony Premium tape doesn't include VAT or delivery.

Amazon is cheaper; 10 for £12.93; spend £15 or more and get free delivery

As usual there's a bewildering array of prices on Amazon: how about 49p per tape (plus £4.50 shipping) from KK Electronics (whoever they are)? Could be an interesting way to go for bulk buys. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sony-DVM60-P...f=pd_sbs_ce_26

Yes, Amazon gets confusing with the various "marketplace" offers as well as their own. But almost always their own direct is better. The marketplace has 4.50 shipping per item. Buy 10 of those 49p tapes and pay £45.00 in shipping.

While were on the subject of tapes .Someone mentioned the other day they were selling 60min DV tapes [ I think by TDK] for £1 each ..................were else but at Poundland. I havn't had time to go there and see yet , but I know they've sold them before and 8mm ones too .Just thought I'd mention.

See, that strikes me as dubious.

And I'm sure they're more than happy to accept returned goods - but there's no refund for shipping.

Yes, having a high per item shipping charge (and offering silly prices for the items) is dubious. You'll see lots of things on Amazon marketplace for 1 pence.... but with 4.50 shipping.....

Direct from the "real" Amazon shipping is reasonable, and better yet free if you spend £15.
