Good piece of software for the price IMO

Easy enough to use for a "now and again user" although I find when rendering files it takes over the computer, so you can't mulitask when it's working, whereas Sony Vegas lets you do other things when it's working albeit a bit slower.

That price for it is normal IMHO
Before you part with cash, why not download the trial version have a play and see if you get on with it
It is newbee friendly and popular but is not everybodys " cup of tea" for various reasons
Saying that it is an all in one.
Sony Vegas Movie Studio is IMHO much more fluid in use once you get the hang of it
It does requre UleadMovieFactory 6 or 6+ for AVCHD authoring though so VS 11.5 is probably great for your needs
