camcorder to laptop

I want to buy the sony trv 19 and would like to watch my videos on my laptop which hasn't got a cd burner.
Who can help?
(I would buy a fire wire )

Sorry, I deleted one sentence before posting.
I asked in the shop and the man told me that you can't watch your video straight on your laptop unless you put it on a cd first.
Is that true? Can't I watch it straight from my camcorder on my laptop?
