Can someone confirm something for me?

In Sony Vegas (pro or otherwise), when importing a clip from a camcorder that has 5.1.

If you look at the 'explorer' tab and you highlight a clip from the camera, it comes up at the bottom of the window telling you about the video and sound properties.

All my clips come up saying that the sound is '5.1 DD (stereo downmix)' which means i am only getting stereo from the camcorder. Doesnt it?

If that is true, how do i change it?

Thanks guys

Ben

Re: Can someone confirm something for me?

If your project properties are set to 5.1, then it should keep it 5.1.

Yeah the project properties are set to 5.1, but it just confuses me that it says its a stereo downmix.

I dont want a stereo downmix!
