Best (cheap!) camcorder to use with Macbook

I'm sure you get these types of threads all the time but I couldn't find anything matching my criteria in the forum so apologies if this is well trodden ground.

Anyhoo, I'm looking for a decent quality, cheap (circa £200) camcorder - preferably using mini-DV - with a widescreen mode that I can use with the imovie application I've got with my Macbook. Nothing fancy, just for shooting family stuff when Jnr makes their appearance next month.

I'm assuming that I'll also need to get a fireware cable to connect it up?

Any help/advice would be much appreciated.

I suggest the Canon MD235, or cheaper still the MD205.
Yes, add a firewire cable and you're ready to go.
