Video Camera Set-Up for In Track Car recording at Race Events

I am looking for ideas the best way to set-up a suitable fixed video or web-cam in a Track Car currently taking part in a race series in order to record the race event from inside the car.

The Camera or Web-Cam must be held in a secure casing in order to pass scrutineering. Whilst real-time transmission would be nice using a mobile network device, I suspect this would pose a number of additional hurdles and am happy to record the event for future playback.

Thanks for looking

Have you googled "Bullet cams" - they tend to be the preffered option with motorsport folk.

Heres an example of one of the many sites available -

I have a Archos bullet cam mounted in a Lotus Elise - the IQ & SQ are very good.

Re: Video Camera Set-Up for In Track Car recording at Race Events

Bit off topic but you know you need to get permission from the circuits / race series to run an onboard cam??

I had a cam removed from my car at Brand Hatch a few years ago because I hadn't got permission from MSV. Could well have just been a jobs worth scruitenier though as he seemed more interested in the camera and not that I had forgotten to restrap the fire extinguisher back in!
