Blu Ray Burning from Vegas 8

Hi everyone,

just a quick one;
I have all my timeline edited up etc etc (from AVCHD)

i want to be able to play it on my ps3 as a blu ray disc. Tools, Burn Blu Ray gives me the option of burning it onto a standard 4.7gb DVD ( i dont own a BD burner)

Everything goes ok, and it says that the job is completed with no errors.

When i put it in the PS3 though, it doesnt even recognise a disc being in there. Inspecting the dsic in a PC, there doesnt appear to be any files on it.

Any idea what is going on? am i doing something wrong? is there any other way to achieve this that im missing?

Thanks guys

Re: Blu Ray Burning from Vegas 8

I would suggest using UleadMovieFactory 6 plus for the blu ray burning aspect ( As an AVCHD disc)
I think Vegas 8 Blu ray function is for Blu ray disc on a Blu ray media ( without menu ect) and a blu ray burner only

You can also use Nero vision 5 ( part of Nero 8) to create an AVCHD disc

An AVCHD disc is a "subset" of a Bluray movie disc. It has Blu ray movie structure on an 4.7Gb DVD disc and is playable by the PS3 (and some BD players)
Apologies if Im stating the obvious

Re: Blu Ray Burning from Vegas 8

OK, that sounds good. Is there any other way of doing it as i would rather not go and get any more software.

I have DVD architect but i have a feeling this wont author AVCHD. is this correct? If not, how can i do it, as when i import a AVCHD to it, it is blank. Sound but no video.

Cheers Guys

As stated Vegas and DVD-A are OK for Bluray with a Bluray burner, and media.. not an AVCHD disc

neither Nero 8 nor Ulead MF should cost you any huge amount(<£45)

You could of course get a BD burner, media and stick with Vegas.. or wait in hope of the next patch which may ( or may not) adds AVCHD disc support
