Any ordered from any of these suppliers?

Simply Electronics or Purely Gadgets? Both have the Sony Sr11 on decent prices. I notice that Amazon use Simply electronics. Is that a good thing?

PS Do i have to be careful of some online places selling an import version as opposed to Uk model?

Re: Any ordered from any of these suppliers?

Amazon uses both of these as a "marketplace" seller. And both routinely use imported stock.

Re: Any ordered from any of these suppliers?

They will be models with the same spec as the UK (e.g. "PAL" 50i), and work fine. They just will (likely) be imported from China or Hong Kong.

There's nothing wrong with imported stock, just as long as it's not imported from USA/Japan.

Check the specs to make sure it's compatable (PAL)

Re: Any ordered from any of these suppliers?

Well, I am watching for one at the right price but I am not paying Amazon's price and I don't the like feel of the Avali way.

I suppose I'll wait.......

Need by September, if I am going to.

Somebody wrote about sticking some furry fabric over the mic..... Any suggestions as to what sort of glue to use? Think I might have a go with my SD7.....

That was me... I wouldn't glue to the camcorder; I would attach it to some elastic so you can easily take it on and off.

Re: Any ordered from any of these suppliers?

Yes, they do, don't they? Liars they are, though.

Whilst the NTSC cams that they sell can be used on a UK HDTV, there are some limitations and minor inconveniences. The unwary wouldn't be sold an NTSC cam to their advantage.

I have emailed Electronic King several times about their claims but they never reply.

Aye, but it's an upright.

I was thinking of the type of peelable adhesive that 3M use for Post-it Notes....
