Audio problems with Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 8

I have imported a video from my DV camcorder and want to edit it in Vega Movie Studio. I can edit the video, but there appears to be no audio if I try to play it back in the editor. The audio is definitely there as it plays if I play the file in Media Player. It is a .avi file.

Can anyone help?
