Could anyone tell me what the best software to use - which I got:

pinnacle Studio 9 plus on my desktop (2500+ barton)

or

windows movie maker again on my desktop under win xp pro

or

again windows movie maker on my laptop under win vista ultimate (which is newer machine with intel core 2 due t7700 2.4Ghz)

I trying to copy all my digital 8 tapes of sony cam through firewall 1394 (dv) to my computer then copy to dvd without losing any quality.

Re: which best to use studio 9 plus or movie maker

other question is:

1. when I edit the cam to my computer harddrive is it ture that the dv full quality capture (avi I think) setting of studio plus 9 will not lose any quiltay from the tape?

2. There is option of video quality/disc usage and it set to automatic but is say approx 185mins of video on disc - so will this lose quality of the harddrive to dvd? Or is should be on best video quality which is approx 77 mins?

Thanks again

2 hours is standard quality for dvd any longer and you may notice quality loss depending how much more any less and questionable whether you would see the difference
