Red face Ulead@ Movie Factory vs videostudio

sorry for being dumb but I cannot fathom which I need to get my AVCHD files off my Panny SD5 and to do some basic home movie editting and burn to [normal] DVDs to play on either a bluray player or a normal dvd player.

Can someone spare me a couple of minutes to help explain what each does/what the difference is?

Thanks

Re: Ulead@ Movie Factory vs videostudio

Movie Factory is a DVD authoring package, which does some basic editing.

VideoStudio is an editing package, with built in DVD authoring.

If you want to do complex editing (multiple tracks, colour correction etc) then VideoStudio is more powerful. If you just want to do basic edits, add some music, burn a DVD then Movie Factory will do what you need and is easier.

thanks Mark [I as rather hoping you'd swing by!]
Ulead Movie Factory 6 it is then.

Got my SD5 today - it is tiny!
As a brucey bonus there is also a 4gb card in the box, so as you can imagine I am a happy camper.
Charge up tonight and practice with the Bank holiday weekend kids' merriment

Re: Ulead@ Movie Factory vs videostudio

Make sure you get UleadMovieFactory 6 Plus : Download the trial version HERE

NeroVision 5 ( Part of Nero 8) would be worth a try ( if you have it)
I would rate UMF more featured but NV5 isnt half bad
