Looking for a Beginner Camcorder

A few years ago I got in to photography and recently I have started to become interested in trying my hand at doing some Video. My only problem is I’m a little stuck on what to get. I am interested in getting something in the miniDV range of camcorders but other then that don’t really know what I should be looking for. What would you guys recommend for someone who is just looking to start out?

If you need any information on my part please just ask!

Re: Looking for a Beginner Camcorder

Pretty spot on, there aren't that many miniDV models left at any budget range anyway. The 205 would be the better one
Panasonic or Sony models cost a bit more maybe better but not by much

"Gold Coast" in Aussie or even Ghana ( In West Africa) are little way away from any of Canon Uks retail outlets though.
I guess the model names are the same in Australia
