Best DVD CAMCORDER for around £200

I am looking for a dvd camcorder for around £200.
I want it to record to full size dvd's so i can just shoot, eject and play my film on my dvd player at home.
I have looked at the Sony DVD110 for around £230.
Does anyone know what this is like or recommend a better model?

Re: Best DVD CAMCORDER for around £200

I didnt think any DVD camcorder used full sized discs
I dont know your suggested model but I would think any brand of DVD camcorder you got at your budget would behave similar
DVD camcorders have a market but for any no of reasons folk aren't too fond of them ( Even those who are not keen on editing ect)
what you may find is that even folk who may wish to avoid the hassle of down loading to PC from tape, may often get a decent MiniDV camcorder, + a settop DVD recorder, and sacrifice the extra step of recording to a settop as a means of getting a bit more quality without spending on a costlier DVD camcorder

I managed to pick up a Sony 406E dvd camcorder for just over £200 new , it has the 1/3 type Cmos sensor and T* coated lens which gives very reasonable results.

Re: Best DVD CAMCORDER for around £200

DVD110 (like all DVD camcorders) uses 8 cm discs.
It's an entry level model, with a 1/8" CCD. Yes, 1/8".

Re: Best DVD CAMCORDER for around £200

I thought you could get a dvd camcorder that used normal sized dvd-r's?
These 8cm discs do they play in standard dvd players under the tv?

Re: Best DVD CAMCORDER for around £200

I have never seen a DVD camcorder which takes full size DVDs. Certainly none of the Sony range (including the DVD110) take full size discs.

As long as the DVD player has a standard tray, they will take the 8cm discs. It is only players/drives where you stick it in a slot (e.g. some Mac PCs) where it is an issue.
