xvyCC & v.v.colour - Do You?

Well, do you?

Anyone with a brand new spinky LCD or Plasma likely can use the extended colour gamut - and the only place you can get footage with these colours as far as I can tell is in newer camcorders..

Hence, I ask "do you?" - -also How do you and is there a good noticable difference?

No takers?

I'm surprised. We get much talk of PQ in here, but the colour depth rarely gets touched....

I'm interested but theres not much on google. I dont even know if my pc software supports xvyCC. I guess I should make a sample recorded with/wothout the added colour depth and have a butchers for myself.

So is all this deep colour on the latest camcorders marketing BS?

This is what i want to find out about before i spend my cash. Panasonic and the Canon are deep colour capable but non of the owners have reported any difference it makes.

Hard to say, really. My tv has it. My camcorder has it. But there's insufficient information out there to tell if I'm looking at deep colour, or not

I tend to use component. Maybe I'll push the signal through HDMI and disable xyvCC in the TV menu and have a look.

bah! my camcorder didnt come with an HDMI cable

Re: xvyCC & v.v.colour - Do You?

My tv has a xvyCC & v.v. mode which i can select only if it is recieving a xvyCC & v.v. signal. I tried some clips posted in this forum from camcorders with deep colour, and with all of them i couldn't select the xvyCC & v.v. option.
