AVCHD How to play final footage ?

OK.... Today I've shot 10 minutes of footage in the garden with my little girl who's 2 and a half so a good subject. ( Sony SR11 )

I've been messing about all evening trying to get a small clip of around 2 mins on DVD so I can show the missus. All I've managed to achieve is some very poor quality video thats not a patch on standard dv.

It's choppy, artifacts all over etc etc.

I was getting to the point where I was thinking their was something wrong with the cam or the quality was just rubbish.

Anyway just before hitting the sack I've come downstairs and plugged the camera straight into the TV using the supplied component lead.

Quality is astonishing. It's that good it even made me laugh out loud ! :-)

I don't have a Blueray player in any shape and I've read that much in the last few weeks that I feel like my head is going to explode. So my main question is this ....

Is it possible to get an hour ( ish ) of camera quality video onto a 4.7gb DVD and if so how ? I'm not really concerned about editing at this stage. I would be happy to just get the footage straight onto some other medium so I can watch it on the telly.

Does anyone know of any guides or what settings I should be using ( Ulead MediaFactory 6 ).

Forgot to add. I have and xbox 360 and was looking to use this to play files in HD from a DVD.

Nick

Yes just import chose DVD video ( as your finishing "product" ) at the opening page ..the software will create SD mpeg2 files for you from the m2ts files

I guess you mean MovieFactory 6+
Not really just let the software guide you . it is simple enough to use
It doesn't matter that you are starting off with HD files, it can still create a "normal" DVD from them
It might be possible to do this with Nero Vision 5 as well
It may take a while so I would leave it overnight

The best thing here is to import the footage into a Video Editing application like Sony Vegas Movie Studio 8 platinum, output as WMV-HD ( 720p or 1080i) then burn these to a DVD disc and play them via the Xbox
It used to be that only the xboxs HD DVD add on could play them but I think the main console can now
