Deleting mini dv

How do you delete footage from a canon md101 ,i haven't played with it much and can't find any delete function.

You don't, you just over write as you would with any video tape.

Ok thanks for that ,i thought that there would be some sort of quick delete function with it being digital.

It is digital but the format works because huge amounts of marginally compressed digtal data are stored on a tape which is a linear medium unlike HDD or flash card
It is usually expected that tapes will not be reused ( they are cheap enough) and the need for a rapid erase does not exist.
Even if you need the tape again it is not nessesary to first erase then record over that
