Apologies if this has been flogged to death already, but I've just bought an SD5 & copied some footage to the PC.s HDD:

Problem is, I can't watch any of it - HD Writer won't look at the HDD & nothing else will read the files

I don't want to install the Pinnacle trial yet, as I just want to watch my clips, not edit them.

Any help would be most appreciated

Nero Showtime 4. Comes as part of Nero 8.

You need to copy the files from the camera into the computer using HD Writer. If you just copy the data from the card to your computer HDD, then HD Writer won't 'see' it as a correct format.
If you copy the folders intact using HD writer, then you can preview the video from the preview window in the 'easy editing ' section of HD Writer.
