Sanyo Xacti HD1000 with iMOvie 08

I was under the impression that these two products were compatible but apparantly not with regard 1080i recordings. I have heard there are some ways around this. Anyone had any problems with this. 720p looks great and works well with imovie but unfortunatley when i bought this camera on holiday i was not aware so need to convert original recordings. Will go and have a look in the apple discussion pages.

Not really, there is some talk of ripping out the old codec, but this doesn't work.

Apparently, Sanyo Customer Services are unaware of any issues, so I suggest people give them a call.
