Question sony sr190 or panasonic h280?

Hello all.could i have opinions on this debate i have(with err indoors)?I can get the sony for 360 from local retailer while the panny for 375 from digitalrev.I like the idea of buying from local retailer for the sony but the specs seem so much better for the panasonic(and the swapping of footage from hdd to flash seems a very good feature)Anyone like the sony better?Stills are quite important,as is video quality.need to buy in next 2-3 days!Help.l

They are close. What about the Panasonic looks better to you in terms of specs? Panny with 3 CCDs helps with colour accuracy, but Sony with a larger CMOS helps with low light. The Sony does better stills.

I really like the feature of transfering footage from hard drive to the sd card and vice versa on the panny but it's interesting that you say the sony takes better stills because good pics could be a deal breaker for me.Which is better,in your opinion?

The stills on the Sony are better, but it's not a huge difference. If you like that feature of hybrid recording (SD card of HDD), then I'd go for the Panasonic.

thanks.yes i do like that feature of hybrid recording, but the h280 is only available at £374 from digitalrev, whilst i know they are a reputable company buying from them still takes second place as opposed to buying from a"uk based company".The 190 is available from comet for £399.I dont know,i,m torn between the two!
