Is the Sony Digital-8 TRV355E Apple Mac compatible

I am thinking of purchasing a Sony Digital8 model TRV355E so I can edit my old analogue 8mm holiday movies on my Mac. Does anyone know whether it is compatible with the Mac, or anything else I need to know?

Re: Is the Sony Digital-8 TRV355E Apple Mac compatible

As a firewire Camorder I found the TRV 620 usable with a mac and Adobe Premiere in the days gone by. I dont know if this applies to thhe 355E and imovie but imagine it should

Re: Is the Sony Digital-8 TRV355E Apple Mac compatible

Apple invented the firewire connection and as a Digital8 camcorder connects via firewire, to either a PC or Mac, then it will be compatible.
The files written to D8 tapes are the same as those on miniDV, ie DV .AVI and I know these cams work with a Mac for video capture.

Mark.
