easiest way to create dvds?

i think i'm going round in circles here

looking for a new camcorder; i like these 2

- Panny SD5 or SD9
- Canon HF100

Requirements
- Must be incredibly easy to put footage onto dvd's to play in normal players

Mrs wants to make dvds very easily

DVD camcorders arent very good

Like the 2 SD media card camcorders mentioned above

I found the panny or canon portable DVD recorder but realise they only make HD DVDs

And I dont have a blue-ray player

That means i need someones advise of how i could record normal DVDs with those cameras or i'm back to the DVD camcorders.

The Mrs would never use a computer to edit and everything but i reckon if you could just plug it in and press record for normal DVD's she would compromise at that so we could have the better camcorder.

Any ideas?

thanks

This is not true. You can either record with them as SD or record as AVCHD then create SD DVDs in software; Ulead Movie Factory 6 plus should be able to do that for you on the PC. As for the portable DVD recorders, forget them for your own purposes ( I think)
The HG 10 does not record SD though ,( a big oversight that Sony or Panasonic don't have IMHO ) so I would check to see that the HF 100 does

You need to tell her that DVD camcorders are not a good idea ( I suspect that quality is actually not that bad TBH) but that is the nearest she can get to the absolute simplicity I imagine she wants but in a world of compromises may find that may not be all there is to it

Otherwise you may as well buy any camcorder .. Including tape (which are VFM with good quality) and a settop DVD recorder which are literally connect up and record.. without the need for a computer, or DVD
