rendering

i have a sanyo xacti and i am converting some vidio from hd to dvd is it normal to take a very very long time e.g a 20 min vidio has taken over 5 hours and its still not finished???

It depends on your PC processor, and the software used, but yes it can take that long.

20 min/ 5 hrs is very long indeed though..! I suppose AVCHD to SD..is not as easy as HDV to SD

It can (as suggested) be software dependent :Just what are you using?? I have used Nero Vision 5 and it was between 1.3 and 1.7x ie 20min would take 40min Max to render.. these were short clips though
Anyhow, these things may be best left overnight

With the Xacti, which is 30 fps, if you are converting to PAL DVD then it has to rescale and also deal with the frame rate change. That can take a while.
