Hi all
I have a Panasonic NV-GS120EB camcorder that has a fubar firewire port (hot swapping tut tut!) I have contacted Panasonic and they have given me details of a company in Gatwick that is their recommended repairer. On contacting them I have been told that their investigation fee is £80 plus the price of the repair minus their initial fee if I choose to go ahead, they are "unable" to offer any idea on final price as Panasonic will not tell them the price of the board, odd eh? They must have done this once or twice before I would imagine
My dilemma is what route to take, do I :-
1 - Get the said camcorder repaired as its very low mileage and in A1+ condition, if so has anyone had this repair carried out before? How much did it cost? Are there any other repairers that I should consider?
2 - Throw immaculate camcorder in the bin (it does still record but can only spit the output signal in S standard) and purchase a replacement, which I believe is the Panasonic NV-GS330
As a life long Panasonic buyer I am a little disappointed that there is nothing in the manual that advises against hot swapping but hey ho its a lesson that I have now learnt!
Thanks in advance for any advise offered
David
